Weston McKennie’s Salary, Net Worth, and Endorsements Add Up to Something Remarkable

Weston McKennie’s current circumstances are subtly gratifying. The Texas-born midfielder was reportedly available for transfer not too long ago; Juventus repeatedly referred to him as surplus to requirements. He now has a contract that expires in 2030, a sizable pay increase, and twice his profile in endorsement revenue compared to most European players. The figures convey a narrative that the rumors were never able to.

According to contract tracking sources, McKennie’s base salary at Juventus is currently estimated to be €5.38 million gross per season for 2026–2027. Before bonuses, that comes to about €103,000 a week. It wasn’t always easy to get to that figure. He was making close to €2.5 million net a year for a number of seasons, which was a respectable salary by most accounts but didn’t account for how important he had become to the team’s midfield. Many observers felt that his reported salary increase to about €4 million net per season when his contract extension was announced in early March 2026 was long overdue.

Context is something that can be easily overlooked in the raw numbers. Juventus had made several attempts to transfer McKennie. There were rumors about transfers, loan stints, and the kind of subliminal signals that clubs send when they’ve moved on from a player. Nevertheless, he continued to work, adapt, and play wherever the manager required him. That flexibility turned into a true strength under Luciano Spalletti. In the months after Spalletti’s arrival in October, McKennie scored more goals than any other member of the team. The kind of form that facilitates contract negotiations is eight goals from a central midfielder who occasionally lines up at striker.

It is important to recognize the ambiguity surrounding the precise numbers. His new contract was reported by ESPN to be worth $7 million after taxes, which caused some people, including knowledgeable Reddit commenters and football finance experts, to take notice. They pointed out that this would make him the club’s second-highest-paid player.

ESPN may have converted or confused this amount with gross figures, but the majority of reporting settled on about €4.2 million net annually. It does occur. Depending on the source, European contracts frequently make it difficult to distinguish between pre- and post-tax figures, and Italian tax laws further complicate matters. It is evident that this is a significant increase over his previous position.

Perhaps even more intriguing is McKennie’s earnings picture off the field. Sportico projects that he makes about $15 million a year, of which $7 million comes from football and an additional $8 million from brand collaborations. His portfolio, which includes work with PUMA, BOSS, and Celsius, presents him as a mainstream commercial presence rather than a specialized sports figure. Only Christian Pulisic surpassed him in total earnings during the 2026 World Cup, where he was the second-richest player on the USMNT roster. It’s an impressive piece of company to have.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, McKennie has earned between $35 and $40 million in gross career earnings over his career. Since he joined Juventus in 2020, his new contract essentially ensures that he will stay with the team for ten years. It’s an amazing place to be for a player who was told he wasn’t part of the plan for parts of that decade.

It’s difficult to ignore how the McKennie arc conveys a particular lesson—one that is more subdued and realistic than the dramatic kind seen in sports films. He adapted when necessary, worked in a system that didn’t always value him, and eventually became hard to replace. The pay came next. It’s still unclear if the Turin club used uncertainty as leverage or if they actually undervalued him for years. However, the contract is genuine. The figures are accurate. Additionally, they have signed the player through 2030 despite their repeated attempts to sell him.
